Tidal has become the Trump or Snapchat of music streaming business by making up illogical bullshit for the low information set. No detail, no metrics, no supporting data…just a big fat number. The most successful single track in Spotify’s history has been streamed about 700 million times over more than a year. They have an paying audience that is at least 10X that of Tidal and a huge audience that uses their ad supported streaming option which Tidal does not offer (they have do a free trial option). The deeper you dig the more you realize how much of the information you see on a daily basis is crafted for the tweet-cycle.
